About us

The shelf life of Philadelphia depends on many factors, including how it’s stored once it has been opened. Our advice to enjoy Philadelphia at its best, if stored correctly in the fridge, is within 7 days of opening. The Philadelphia Mini Tubs are a perfect alternative to use up all the cream cheese in one go.

Unfortunately, Philadelphia shouldn’t be frozen as the texture you know and love will change. However, you can freeze both baked and chilled cheesecakes made with Philadelphia, but keep in mind that the texture of the thawed cheesecake may alter.

We’ve rounded up a few of our favourite cheesecake recipes here.

Here’s a tip: when baking a Philadelphia cheesecake, place it on the lowest shelf if you have a gas oven or the centre rack in an electric oven. That should give you an even bake and nice creamy texture.

To make your cheesecake a little lower in fat, replace regular Philadelphia with Philadelphia Light, use a low fat spread suitable for cooking instead of butter, swap full fat digestives for low fat ones and serve decorated with fresh fruits – or keep it simple for a New York style cheesecake.

How is Ouros made?

Milk, cream, and a pinch of salt: these are the main ingredients used to make your favourite cream cheese. We make our products with simple ingredients and this is something we can feel good about. For our flavoured options we add ingredients such as garlic, herbs or chives. To get the full picture, you can always find the ingredient list on the back of your tub.

Don’t worry, it’s a completely natural phenomenon caused by the separation of liquids from the cream cheese. That process is called syneresis and will not affect the taste of your Philadelphia. You can easily either mix it back into the cream cheese or tip it off, if you prefer.

No, we do not use genetically modified ingredients. We only use food ingredients that meet strict criteria of safety and quality. You can rest assured that all our ingredients are in line with all the relevant legal requirements.

Dietary

Philadelphia is a pasteurised dairy product. Pregnant women are advised not to eat un-pasteurised cheese. Whenever you have doubts, it’s best to check with your doctor to be sure.

Being transparent is important when it comes to our consumers’ health. We always make sure to list possible allergens in our ingredient list. In general, most Philadelphia products don’t contain wheat, eggs or soya. But it depends on the specific product. To be sure, you should always read the label.

Philadelphia in general does not contain gluten as it is derived from milk. Should gluten be present, it would be highlighted in the ingredient list. Please make sure to always read the label and – if in doubt – consult your health professional
